DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
HopeSprings Counseling accepts most insurance and files insurance claims.  We are currently unable to accept Cigna, Medicare or Medicaid. We are not responsible for non-covered services once the service has been rendered, therefore it is important that you to contact your insurance provider prior to scheduling an appointment to ensure that your plan will cover our counselors’ credentials and to verify any possible needs for pre-authorization.  Payment is due at the time of service.  We accept cash, check or credit/debit card.

WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE OR MY PLAN DOES NOT COVER YOUR SERVICES?

HopeSprings is a non-profit ministry and strives to remove barriers to facilitating life change.  Our regular fee for talk therapy services is $135/hour, which is considered to be competitive with those offered by other counseling agencies in the area. We also offer options such as payment plans and scholarships to assist those who cannot afford the regular fee.  Please contact us for further information on these types of assistance.

Our equine assisted psychotherapy program’s services are not currently covered by insurance. Due to the overhead costs associated with this program, we primarily focus on groups, intensives, retreats, and team-building. Please contact us for pricing. Sometimes we are able to secure grants to assist with funding this program, thereby reducing the costs for participants.

You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate regarding the cost of services. Your counselor will discuss this with you. Learn more about your rights here.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Once your initial appointment has been scheduled, your counselor will send you our patient portal login information and instructions. Please read these carefully and follow the instructions completely. To avoid having to reschedule your appointment, please complete the forms within the required time frame. You will also be asked for your driver’s license/photo identification and your insurance card (if applicable) so that we may verify benefits and obtain a copy for your file.

Your first appointment is typically referred to as an initial assessment. Your counselor will spend time with you gathering background information and discussing your needs so that you can begin working together to formulate a plan for growth and change.

The duration and frequency of sessions is very much dependent on your needs. Initially, your counselor may recommend weekly to bi-weekly appointments so that a therapeutic relationship can be established and the treatment plan can be most effective. Keep in mind that your counselor will typically spend one hour per week with you, therefore the majority of the work occurs outside of the office where you’re able to apply what you’ve learned to real life. Those who have the most success with therapy are those who are committed to the process, which includes keeping a consistent appointment schedule and completing “homework” assignments.

The therapeutic relationship is one that is protected by confidentiality laws. This means that you can feel protected and safe to share things with your counselor. There are exceptions to this in which counselors are required by law to report if someone presents as a harm to themselves or someone else and also in cases of suspected abuse/neglect. Your counselor will explain this in more detail during your initial appointment and will answer any questions you have.

WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS?

HopeSprings office hours vary by counselor and are by appointment only.  Our phones are not manned by a receptionist and our counselors will often answer and return phone calls between sessions. Should you reach our confidential voicemail, please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.  Our counselors also work outside of the office at our equine program, therefore it may be the following business day before they are able to return a phone call. E-mail is typically the most efficient way to contact your counselor. If you have a mental health emergency, please call 911, report to the nearest emergency room or contact Crisis Services of North Alabama.  http://www.csna.org/  (800.691.8426)

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE OR CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

Please contact us as soon as possible should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.  In order to best serve our clients, we reserve the right to charge for appointments not canceled at least 24 hours in advance.  This fee is not reimbursable by insurance.

DO I HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO RECEIVE SERVICES?

If you choose to utilize our services, please understand that your counselor will work from a Christian perspective.  Our services at HopeSprings are available to anyone, regardless of your faith/beliefs.
